New Patients
You will need to complete a Patient Registration Form; this can be done online through the online booking app or in person prior to your appointment. You will need to arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time if you have not filled out your form online.
Closing The Gap (CTG)
Please advise your GP if you identify as Aboriginal &/or Torres Strait Islander. The CTG PBS Co-payment program aims to improve access to affordable PBS medicines for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living with, or at risk of, chronic disease, and who in their doctor’s opinion would experience setbacks in the prevention or ongoing management of chronic disease if they did not take the prescribed medicine and would be unlikely to adhere to their medicine’s regimen without assistance through the program.
Eligible patients who would normally pay the full PBS co-payment will pay the concessional rate and those eligible patients who would normally pay the concessional rate receive their PBS medicines without being required to pay a PBS co payment.
Consultations
When possible, appointments should be made with your regular GP as this will improve your ongoing care by providing continuity. If your GP is not available, our reception staff can organise for you to see an alternative GP. If it is an emergency, please call 000 and request an ambulance.
Home Visits
If you are a regular patient of our practice and too ill to come to the centre and your GP has been consulted then it is possible to organise a home visit if appropriate.
Standard Appointment
A Standard consultation would be suitable if you have one item to discuss with your GP for example:
- Urinary tract infection
- Ear infection
- Minor injury
- Sore eye
- Blood pressure review
- Repeat prescription
- Results
Our policy is that your results are best discussed in consultation with your GP, even normal results can require explanation. Further investigation may be required. Please make an appointment to see your GP after having your tests performed, the pathology staff will advise how long it will take for your GP to receive the results.
Long appointment
If you have a complex item or more than one item to discuss with your GP, please book a long appointment.
If you are unsure about how long an appointment you should book, please contact our reception staff.
Telephone Appointment
To be eligible for this type of consultation you must have been seen at our practice face to face in the last 12 months.
Telephone consultations do not promote good patient care and present legal and medical record difficulties. Callers ringing with medial enquiries will be asked to make an appointment to see a GP. The exception to this policy would be where the GP in this practice:
- Has seen you recently and is satisfied that they are sufficiently up-to-date with your condition to give advice over the telephone
- You have cough, cold flu like symptoms. In this instance please contact our reception staff and advise
To book a standard, long or telephone appointment with a GP, you can use the Book Online link that will take you to a HotDoc application where you can select the GP of your choice as well as, the date and time of appointment or you can contact our practice.
